Water…..make a feature of it…
Well I started to write this post when I was away on holiday….we were stuck in for the day because of torrential rain, that’s the good old British summer weather for you….though being stuck inside was no hard task as we were staying in a beautifully furnished old Georgian vicarage on the North Norfolk coast.
The great Nicky Haslam has spent 45 years as an interior designer/decorator to rock stars, royality and generally the rich folk and not once has he popped round to mine, hmmm maybe as I am not one of the above…..but I still love and admire his work and he was crowned as 2016’s International designer of the year.
At the moment Nicky’s projects include houses on the Isle Of Wight, Belgrave square and also in New Orleans and at the grand age 0f 77 he shows no signs of slowing down and this month he has just launched his own paint range called The Stones in collaboration with the very eco friendly ‘Paint the town green’ company.
Those lovely laid back guys at White Stuff the UK fashion store have been venturing into the interior world of homewares…….so far, it is limited to afew carefully chosen pieces that are available…..I wonder if they are testing the water to see how Joe public responds. There are ceramics that are hand made and throws too, all in the Inky blues, whites and creams colour palette, there are also some lovely candles and holders too and a small amount of kitchen wares in the forms of aprons also pretty make up and toiletry bags etc…. Well here we are in 2017……and if you are anything like myself then I had only just started getting used to writing 2016…..when its all change again !!
So its a New Year and a New Hue and according to the lovely Pantone colour people ‘Greenery’ or Pantone 15-0343TCX is the colour of the year.
Its funny because for the past 8 months or so I have been pondering the zestiness of green and wanting to inject some of that colour into my Living room to brighten things up alittle and rev up the taupes and greys that I love so much, at the moment purple is my pop of colour in the room.
Well here we are in December and thats means only one thing…..Christmas!!! So this weekend I will be digging out all my Christmas decorations from their hibernation….and I will start d…

November 5th is Bonfire Night here in the UK….a wonderful night filled with colourful fireworks and the warming glow of Bonfires and it’s also a great night to have an outdoor party, sitting around a crackling Firepit, drinking warming drinking and eating lovely bbq food, watching fireworks light up the sky.
